the Last Souls

Paul Kilford
Bass Guitar

Jimmy Cousins
Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals

Over the last 2 decades or so I have had the good fortune to have played in some great bands, I’ve also done a bit of session work (some good, some not!). Whatever the situation, I have always worked with the same principle in mind ... To try and groove and be as musical as I can. All of my favourite bands have had drummers who have laid down a great groove; from out and out funk for James Brown or powerful rock for Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. With that in mind, I now bring my drums to the Last Souls. Here’s to the groove!!
Thanks to: my parents (RIP), Julie, Rachael, Patrick, Ros, Keith V
, the Newcastle Drum Centre, The Dakota Plains, Endgame, Guiness, Stella, Malt Whiskey. Thank God for the Groove!!

A combination of modesty and abject laziness prevented Paul from writing his own comments (but there’s time yet ...) but this is how we see him.

When a new song is brought to rehearsals, Jimmy uses the phrase. ‘It’s good, now let Kilford funk it up’. (at least we think that’s what he says!). Paul is a very musical bass player and always gives a song a feel and a groove so it’s no surprise that his key influences are people like Flea, Larry Graham and any classic funk players.
Paul could be last seen in the bands Stellavision and Overjoy.
